JeJu Spa Day

When the stresses of life seem overwhelming, it is great to escape for rejuvenation, and nothing beats discovering a new Spa!! Yesterday my mother, aunts and I tried out mega-wellness center JeJu Sauna, The Home of Wellbeing, and are official converts. A Korean sauna located straight up 85 in Duluth, across from the Gwinnett Place Mall, the center offers 7 (yes) separate saunas and several mineral pools for an entry/use price of $25.00. *Slow Blinks* Additional services including body scrubs, massages, and facials are available at additional costs.

After exploring all the amazing sauna rooms, I selected a hip bath, body scrub, and reflexology 1-hour foot massage as additional treatments. The hip bath, an ancient Korean treatment, is ideal for women to clean out impurities and toxins in the body. I was draped in a plastic cover, and positioned over a special-stool while Korean herbs steamed beneath the make-shift bubble. It was dope. 🙂 Dips in the pools and time inside of the steam rooms followed, but soon it was time for my body scrub. Shawty. A woman scrubbed all parts of my body for over 30 min, removing layers and layers of dead skin, dirt, and lawdknowswhatelse, and the interval I was splashed with hot water. It felt orgasmic. My skin is as smooth as a seal. More sauna time followed (the many rooms and absolute calm inside is amazingly overwhelming), then I received an hr-long foot massage that gave me new life for the rest of the month. Ugh. Just crazy good.

JeJu caters to all ages, and has separate treatment rooms (body scrubs & massages) for men and women. Couples treatments are available, but must be scheduled ahead. The only hiccup in the experience was full nudity in the treatment rooms and mineral pools. If one is squeamish (we’re not), that may be an issue, but towels are available. Swimsuits must be worn in the lap pool (co-ed) and the main saunas are open to the public, so all guests are given scrubs that must be worn when relaxing in main/neutral areas. Open 24-hours with free wi-fi, a cafe, and fitness center, there really is no reason to leave, well, except returning to the real world *le sigh*  All of the ladies left deliriously relaxed and feeling amazeballs. We plan to return next month, and would recommend to anyone who desires a relaxing and indulging experience. You deserve it. Thanks to everyone at JeJu, and can’t wait to return!
