MMDD!! Feature: “For Colored Girls”

Apologies for the delay on post updates, but Vitamin D was on a brief hiatus while considering new plans for the site revamp. I’m very excited to make several changes and improvements!! This revamp introduces a new Vitamin D Event, Manuscript, Movie, Dinner (Drinks), and Discussion (MMDD), where readers in the area link up to view a film based on a brilliant piece of literature then share thoughts over dinner. The first selection, is Tyler Perry’s “For Colored Girls.”

For Colored Girls...

The highly anticipated film written/produced/directed by Tyler Perry, is based on the 70’s iconic play/choreopoem surrounding Black female identities, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When  The Rainbow Is Enuf by Ntosake Shange. Take the opportunity to review or introduce yourself to the play then make plans to purchase tickets in advance (click link), for we’ll meet at the theatre next week. After the film, we’ll caravan/carpool to the swanky new lounge of the Loew’s Hotel for a spirited discussion.

When: Friday, Nov. 5 ,2010

Where: Movie/Start – Atlanta Phipps Plaza 14 Dinner/End –Loew’s Hotel Atlanta (Peachtree)
