Atlanta Winter Beer Carnival: FUN TIME in the City
Atlanta was an unseasonable, yet amazing, sunny 75 degrees Saturday! What better way to enjoy the sun than to grab a friend and hit the Second Annual Winter Beer Carnival?! The sold-out event spread from 8th to Spring streets in Midtown, the and featured unlimited samplings of several of the Southeast’s most tasty, frothy beers. Over 100 traditional brews, craft beers, and the top winter varities. Can’t believe I missed out last year, and as a beer aficionado, this was one event I was too glad to attend. Too geeked.
Upon-entry keepsake shot glasses were given out, and we were directed towards the many tents occupied by “Booze Crew” volunteers working to keep glasses full. It was only after sampling beers in the first row, did I slow to realize the many carnival activities available for drunken crowd participation. There was ring-toss, adult-Operation, a giant fun-house, ice-luge and rubber tubes, beer pong, and many more games that appealed to one’s childhood memories. Nothing is more fun than carnival games played under the influence in controlled environments. A DJ spun a mix of rock, hip-hop, 80s dance favorites and top 40 music, so someone in the crowd was always singing out loud. There were several cab companies located in the major tent and near the exit to ensure everyone got home safe and sound.
A special thanks to Laura V. from Premiere Events for looking out, and working to make the WBC such a success. Atlantans truly found an amaze-balls time at the Winter Beer Carnival! Looking forward to next year.
