DIY PR Workshop – Excellent

Many of you know that is a work-in-progress, but that I have a vision and strive to get better. One of the early lessons learned as a budding entrepreneur is to seek help from experts. Public Relations and promotion of a brand require strategy and skill, and that’s just what was provided at the DIY PR Workshop taught by PR professional Dee Dee CoCheta. Founder of ABC Publicity, Dee Dee is now capitalizing from her 20+ years in the entertainment and non-profit industries as an in-demand PRO to market her skills helping others through consulting. Her first class was taught last Saturday in Atlanta, a four-hour crash course in public relations and media training for self-starters in need of guidance.

Informative coverage ran the gamut from branding 101, self-promotion, to media coaching, creating a great press kit, angle development and maintaining proper contacts. She touched on it ALL while offering great tips. The notes received will help move many stagnant business and brands to the next level as effective public relations strategies and practices are essential when developing (some of y’all feel me)!

An intimate session jam-packed with information, women participants in Saturday’s class each had budding businesses and shared their visions with the group. It was very empowering to be amongst like-minded individuals…there was food, fellowship, and inspiration. Dee Dee makes herself available to clients/ students after the course to ensure follow-through and accountability. Course offerings are for entrepreneurs/brands as well as PR novices and professionals. Visit her website for more information. Thanks to Dee Dee for an awesome afternoon jam-packed with tools. Now… to revamp this marketing plan!! 🙂

First, answer to your question; “will I see the Help, YES”. For the same reasons you stated in your weekly digest. We, women of color, must start supporting one another. I read the book and if the “movie” is true to form, “hello” Oscar.
