The Green Room: Atlanta’s New Spot For Artists

Thursday night, Atlanta celebs partied in Buckhead, celebrating the launch of The Green Room Lounge, a new creative space with actors and artists in mind. A concept of actress, producer, and director Terri J. Vaughn (often recognized from the Steve Harvey Show), co-owned by Attorney Shannon K. Nash, film producer Roger Bobb (BobbCat Films) and retired NBA player Adonal Foyle, The Green Room Lounge is a creative’s intimate spot to mingle with peers, hone the craft via class offerings, or showcase talents on the stage. Taking inspiration from LA’s Samuel French Theatre and Film Bookshop, it is an actor’s haven.

The private launch party previewed a throwback to old glamour theme throughout the building, visible in framed Black Hollywood movie posters, book selections in the bookstore, beautiful chandeliers, and furniture reminiscent of an old Hollywood meeting room. Chef Jason Ellis (Hell’s Kitchen) prepared hors d’oeuvres for guests, as they enjoyed live performances from several beloved artists including Anthony David and Angie Stone, and Nicci Gilbert (formerly of Brownstone). The Green Room Lounge was Nelly-video temperature, wall-to-wall packed, filled with beautiful energy and people. Everyone clearly had a wonderful time! Terri’s celebrity friends came out in support including:  Mayor Kasim Reed * Roger Bobb, Producer/Film Mogul * Jasmine Guy, Director/Producer/Actress * Melinda Williams, Actress * Lisa Wu Hartwell, RHOA/Actress * Tommy Ford, Actor * Clifton Powell, Actor * Lisa Arrindell Anderson * Demetria McKinney, Actress * Frank Ski, Radio Personality * Kwanzaa Hall, Atlanta City Councilman * G Garvin, Chef, TV Star * Derek Blanks, Photographer * Rashan Ali, Personality, Actress * Chanita Foster, VH1 Reality Star * Derek J, Hair Stylist, Reality TV Star * Mali Hunter, Actress, Producer, Artist * And many more!

Terri J. Vaughn stated, “My goal is to provide a supportive and nurturing community for Atlanta-based talent where they can feel a sense of camaraderie.” The fabulous launch also benefitted two non-profit organizations, Take Wings Foundation and Colored My Mind. An awesome addition to Atlanta’s burgeoning TV/Film industries, The Green Room Lounge is another sign that trailblazers in the arts are building the Hollywood of the South. Congratulations to the owners and staff of The Green Room Lounge, and thank you to the Garner Circle.

Peace,
