*Review* Think Like A Man – LOVED IT!?!

I attended the press screening of Think Like A Man, the anticipated film adaptation of Steve Harvey’s bestselling novel Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man.

Now, I struggled to finish the book years ago as I found it sexist and wasn’t interested in Steve Harvey telling ME what to do in ANY of my relationships. So I was a cynic all day before the screening thinking it was going to be some simple foolery.

How wrong was I?! I LOVED the film? No. Really. I LUV-HED. The. Film?!

Starring Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union, Kevin Hart, Jerry Ferrera, Meagan Good, Michael Ealy (YUM), Romany Malco, Terrance J. and Gary Owen, this was a romantic comedy home run.

Original Entertainment: Milk & Honey Series: Episode 1

From producers Brown Paper Dolls and Idris Elba, the fresh web series Milk & Honey has arrived! An original media offering from three talented women, check out Episode One:

The story lines show Black women living in a metropolis, discovering themselves and following their dreams. Intelligent characters with authentic situations is refreshing to see. Who doesn’t love a Debbie Allen guest appearance? Also doesn’t hurt that the lead actress/producer and Lance Gross are both Howard University Grads. YOU KNOOOOOW!!!! Great Bison are everywhere. 🙂 *Support the series, check out their site, and share your thoughts!

*We have to support creative, original offerings in media or continue complaining about the commercial bullshyt.*

BET Hip Hop Awards Black Carpet Coverage > OH MY!!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Saturday afternoon, credentials on-deck, Tom’s in-tow, and natural hair twisted, I prepped to interview some of the biggest stars in Hip-Hop along BET’s Black Carpet. October 1st, the award show pre-tapped in the Atlanta Civic Center, and I covered for Tastemaker Magazine!! *Love them* Paired with a professional videographer/photographer, we staked our claim alongside the MANY, media outlets all vying to chat with stars as they walked by. Some of my favorite interviews:

  • Nelly -He looked like happy money. A rare expression during this recession, and lyrics of delusion.
  • Rick RAWSEVery nice in person,he complimented my Taurus piece. I was confused by his silk pajama choice, however.
  • DJ Drama – So articulate and chill. I should’ve had a glass of what he sipped.
  • Drumma Boy – STILL a humble artist with a great personality! His excitement is infectious.
  • BIG KRIT – ASIDE from being a favorite artist of mine, he was SO humble, pleasant, and posed for my STAN moment.  *SWOON*

This was my first Black Carpet event, and was a bit nervous trying to secure artists before their publicists pulled them away. Shout/Out to all the working media on the carpet, particularly the Jasmine Brand and Marc from ATL Profile who worked opposite sides of me. It was quite an experience;  think I’m broken-in just right. Check the exclusive video coverage at Tastemaker Magazine!

Exclusive Janelle Monae Interview For Tastemaker Magazine

Thursday night I had the pleasure to interview Janelle Monae for Tastemaker Magazine!! Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Janelle Monae was the featured headliner for the grand opening of the Renaissance Hotel Midtown Atlanta’s RLife LIVE series. Throughout 2011 RLife LIVE has featured many artists on the rise including Robin Thicke, Robyn, and Bruno Mars. The global star talked returning home to the ATL, thoughts on fashion, beauty and future plans in an exclusive video!

HOW gorg is Janelle?!? Her skin just glowed and she was too sweet – I tried very hard not to gush through the video. 🙂 Thanks to the editors at Tastemaker Magazine, and the Renaissance Hotel PR for the opportunity, and check Janelle’s Official Website for more tour information.

Peace,
