Two weeks ago I checked out the ARJUNI flash launch in Atlanta, a hair customization showcase providing a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. Janice Arjuni, owner of ARJUNI hair offers virgin-hair extensions (weave) direct from Cambodia, and allows customers an opportunity to learn, customize, and view first-hand their hair extension selections. Well, I, queen of proudly rocking a nappy kinky fro, had no idea what that honestly meant and was treated to an overwhelming (in the best way).
Crystal Nicole, an Atlanta native, stepped forward as a new artist on the rise impressing a packed crowd at her private showcase Wednesday evening (8.10.11) at Museum Bar. Hosted by JUICY Magazine and ASCAP, the crowd of peers, industry professionals, media and fans enjoyed an impressive performance of several forthcoming tracks.
Crystal Nicole (Blackground/Interscope) rocked out in front of live band exhibiting great vocal control and comfort onstage. Writing her own songs, she passionately sang (3) songs about heartbreak, empowerment, and real love. Closing with the official single “Pinch Me,” she told the packed crowd, “This is such a dream for me, I’ve been waiting for this all my life!” The energy was high and her performance was that of an artist ready for the ride.
A force behind the music scenes penning hits for some of the biggest names in music including Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, and Janet Jackson, Crystal Nicole also collected a Grammy for writing Rihanna’s “Only Girl.” Congrats on a successful showcase, thanks to Enchanted PR, and look forward to seeing Crystal Nicole’s star continue to rise!
